"We believe that leaders of the future need exposure to the best of the east and west, possess a broad world view and global vision, and be able to communicate effectively in an international language. The College’s strong emphasis on the broad-based curriculum, language training and international connections does produce quality leaders for the community. Since its establishment in 2000, CIE has been growing both in quantity and quality. The number of Associate Degree concentrations and HKBU Self-funded Undergraduate Programmes has increased drastically to meet the needs of the community. In terms of quality, CIE adopts the vigorous quality assurance mechanism of the University to ensure its programmes are of the highest academic standard. In fact, CIE is proud to have been commended during the Teaching and Learning Quality Process Review (TLQPR) conducted by the University Grants Committee in 2002, the Academic Consultation Panel Visit (ACPV) conducted by the University in 2006 and in 2012, and the Institutional Review by the Joint Quality Review Committee (JQRC) in 2008 on its high quality programmes, dedicated teachers and conscientious students. ”

Welcome to the CIE Family!
Being the pioneer institution to offer the Associate Degree programme in Hong Kong, CIE proudly shares HKBU's whole-person education mission to enable students to learn and grow through its general education curriculum and all-round developmental initiatives.
At CIE, we believe every student is unique and will excel when there is an opportunity. Not only do we encourage students to strive for academic excellence, but we also put emphasis on experiential learning through an array of student development programmes ranging from internship programmes, cultural exchange programmes, advertising competitions, business plan competitions, music performances, to various sports events and college publications.
I am most grateful to the dedicated and spirited team of academics and administrators who contribute to the superior teaching and learning environment. Great effort has been invested in enhancing the articulation of AD programme to various undergraduate programmes. Apart from the progressive increase in the number of HKBU self-funded undergraduate programmes for articulation, our collaboration with about 31 overseas universities has also offered ample choices for students to study abroad.
I encourage students to make good use of the resources and opportunities at CIE to make their college life a truly rewarding experience.
