Dr. Josephine Yau of CIE wins FSTE GE Outstanding Teaching Award

Dr. Josephine Yau, Lecturer of Division of Social Sciences won the Outstanding Teaching Award of the Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education (FSTE).

Dr. Yau was selected in recognition of her significant contributions on quality teaching, student learning, development/management, and educational leadership.

Dr. Yau is teaching research methods, personality psychology, social psychology and abnormal psychology courses in CIE. Her research interests lie in the field of health psychology and mental health. Due to her counselling background, she pays special attention on student’s emotional health as well as general well-being. Helping students to discover their own strengths and purposes and to extend their learning curves are among her teaching objectives.

FSTE GE Outstanding Teaching Award aims to recognise teachers who demonstrate exemplary teaching practices, encourage sharing of good practices amongst accomplished teachers, and foster a culture of excellence in the teaching profession.
