Lau Tsun Ling,  CIE Alumnus (now studying in HKBU Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 1) was the overall champion in the Individual Race for men and took the top spot in the 16-19 age group at the Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. (SHKP) Vertical Run for Charity-Race to Hong Kong ICC competition with a time of 14min 13sec.

Held on December 2014, the competition required participants to climb up 2,120 steps to the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre, the seventh tallest building in the world and the tallest in Hong Kong.

Organised by SHKP and co-organised by The Community Chest of Hong Kong, the competition aimed to raise funds for child and youth services. This year’s race had several categories, including Elite Race, Individual Race and Relay Race.

Tsun Ling is a long-distance runner. Earlier this year he scooped the championship in the men’s junior half-marathon race with a time of 1hour 19min 22sec at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2014.
