CIE Students awarded in HKIAAT Accounting and Business Management Cases Competition 2014-15

Through devotion and teamwork, three teams of students from the Division of Business of CIE were given the “Proficiency Teams” award in “The HKIAAT Accounting and Business Management Cases Competition 2014 -2015” - Tertiary Institute Group organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians.

This year the competition attracted the participation of 193 teams of students from 20 tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and the Mainland. Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited was the selected company for this year’s case study. The competition aims to enhance sub-degree students and prospective AAT Club members’ ability in using accounting information for business development and to enhance their soft skills as required by today’s business world. In addition to having three teams of CIE students from Financial Management and Professional Accountancy winning the Proficiency Team awards, Tsim Cheong Cheung, Fendi, an Associate Degree Year 2 student studying Professional Accounting was given the HKIAAT Scholarship this year.

“I would like to offer my wholehearted gratitude to the lecturers for supporting me in the HKIAAT Competition. This competition has reinforced my ability to think critically and broadened my horizon for sure,” said Fendi, the scholarship recipient.

Apart from teaching academic knowledge and developing students’ positive attitude in class, CIE also encourages students to participate in different kinds of after school activities and competitions so that they can design and apply strategies for real business management cases.
