{"id":108,"date":"2018-01-19T14:23:27","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T06:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cie.hkbu.edu.hk\/division\/as\/?p=108"},"modified":"2018-01-19T15:49:36","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T07:49:36","slug":"life-science-students-visited-vitargent-international-biotechnology-limited-in-science-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cie.hkbu.edu.hk\/division\/as\/2018\/01\/19\/life-science-students-visited-vitargent-international-biotechnology-limited-in-science-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Science students visited Vitargent International Biotechnology Limited in Science Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Life Science students open their horizon through visiting a famous biotechnology company in Science Park- <span id=\":2zq.1\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">Vitargent<\/span> International Biotechnology Limited. <span id=\":2zq.2\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">Vitargent<\/span> makes use of <span id=\":2zq.3\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">medaka<\/span> and <span id=\":2zq.4\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">zebrafish<\/span> embryos to perform toxicity tests.\u00a0It tests at checkpoints along the supply chain ensuring quality control at every stage of the production process, such as cosmetic products, water, toys and cooking oils, etc. Dr. <span id=\":2zq.5\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">Xueping<\/span> Chen, a\u00a0co-founder of <span id=\":2zq.6\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">Vitagent<\/span>, \u00a0introduced the application of\u00a0latest biotechnology in biological test and the development of the company to our students. Students then were guided to visit the laboratory where the biological tests were being conducted by using <span id=\":2zq.8\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">zebrafish<\/span> and <span id=\":2zq.9\" class=\"J-JK9eJ-PJVNOc\" role=\"menuitem\">medaka<\/span>.
