But, what does a think tank do? Is there any difference between a think tank and a research department of a university? To enhance the understanding of the role and the work of think tank in Hong Kong, the College organized a visit to Hong Kong Policy Research Institute (HKPRI, \u9999\u6e2f\u653f\u7b56\u7814\u7a76\u6240) on 6 July.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jacky Fung, the Manager and Researcher of HKPRI, gave an insightful introduction of what think tank does, and a comparison of think tanks in UK, USA, Singapore, and the mainland China. He also addressed the three main principles a think tank should follow: being independent, being transparent, and producing social impact. The student interns from Hong Kong University also shared their research projects and experience at HKPRI.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to CIE students, the College opened the visit to secondary school students.
