CIE wins the Social Enterprise Supporter Award 2025 for fostering cross-sector collaboration with social enterprises
BackCIE has proudly won the “Social Enterprise Supporter Award 2025” under the Social Enterprise Award Scheme for its unwavering commitment to fostering cross-sector collaboration with social enterprises, encouraging students to explore innovative ideas and embracing social responsibility.
Established by Fullness Social Enterprises Society (FSES), the Scheme aims to promote ethical consumption spending on social enterprises, and celebrate organisations that actively support social enterprises and contribute to building stronger communities. This year’s theme is “Social Good, Better Choices”, recognising more than 160 corporations and organisations.
For more than a decade, the College has been actively supporting social enterprises through a range of initiatives. These include inviting social enterprises to share their experiences through seminars and talks, encouraging students to participate in social enterprise competitions that help them learn about the current situations and challenges, and promoting student engagement through volunteering and experiential learning activities that make a positive difference in the community.
Dr Amy Tsang, Lecturer of the Division of Business and Dr Nicholas Chan, Counsellor of the Student Development Centre represented CIE at the TECM 2025 Award Ceremony. They expressed that, through these learning experiences, students gain first hand exposure to the social missions and business practices of social enterprises, which help shape their thinking and behaviour, particularly in areas such as ethical decision making and socially responsible consumption. All these resonate with CIE’s mission to provide whole person education and nurture responsible leaders for the society.
A particularly delightful highlight of the ceremony was reconnecting with two of the CIE alumni, Jack and Nick, who studied with Dr Tsang more than ten years ago. Seeing them now applying their marketing talents in the social enterprise sector, and contributing to CIE’s mentorship programme by guiding current students were both inspiring and heartwarming.
