返回The 16th annual B-DARE Business Simulation Competition of the Division of Business culminated in a dynamic Grand Final, held in partnership with Mira Dining. Emerging from a highly competitive field of four finalists, team "SOV" was crowned champion after captivating the judges with its ambitious “NEO-HERITAGE” business plan. The team showcased a sophisticated, tech-enabled lifestyle ecosystem built on innovative ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, a modern night-time “Yum Wine” (飲酒)culture, and a powerful Generative AI system.
The judging panel included Mr Grant Lee, Director of Food and Beverage, Mira Dining and Dr Connie Li, Assistant Director of General Education Office, Hong Kong Baptist University who praised the exceptional caliber and strategic depth of all final presentations. Mr Grant Lee commended the team’s professionalism and dynamic presentation styles. “The market-readiness displayed this year was exceptional,” he remarked. “The teams that truly stood out presented viable business, not just a dream. They demonstrated a remarkable ability to translate concepts like ESG and AI into tangible, financially sound applications.” He also praised the use of video and role-play was particularly effective in bringing these business concepts to life.
Dr Connie Li lauded the strategic thinking on display. “The central challenge is always balancing bold creativity with commercial feasibility, and this year’s finalists rose to that challenge impressively,” said Dr Li.
Reflecting on the experience, Champion team member Venus Mai, an Associate Degree programme student from Financial Management, described the competition as an unforgettable and educational journey. “It challenged us to apply our classroom knowledge to develop a real-world business plan. The experience taught me how to integrate complex financial data with creative strategy, and to confidently defend our ideas in a professional setting,” she said.
The other finalists also presented compelling visions for the dining industry: APEX Innovator Group proposed a “Seasonal Nourishment” menu; Team IVY focused on brand rejuvenation through Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and Intellectual Property collaborations, and Team New Wave unveiled a tech-centric Augmented Reality (AR) tasting card.
