Orientation Schedule

The New Student Orientation activities are designed to prepare new students for a smooth transition to college study and to complete the registration procedures. All new students are required to attend both Part I and Part II of the orientation activities. The schedule is as follows:

  • A photo-taking session will be arranged and student card will be distributed after completion of a survey.
  • Detailed schedule will be given to students by email and posted at “MyAD Application” on 15 Aug 2018.
  • Students who are under 18 years old (as of 1 Sept 2018) should complete and return the Letter of Consent to the College on the Registration Day. Please refer to the email for details.

Summer English Bridging Workshop

(All new students are strongly recommended to attend this workshop to prepare for English learning at tertiary level.)
Application Period: 11 Jul – 9 Aug
This workshop aims to give new students an overview of the English courses and English support services at CIE. It introduces new students to two topics of the mandatory academic writing courses: evaluation and refutation.

Enrichment Course (Non-credit Bearing)

Cantonese in Daily Life生活粵語 (For Mainland Students)
This course is recommended for Putonghua speakers in achieving some competency in Cantonese for everyday communication. This course is designed to help students in the phonetic patterns, sentence structure and vocabulary of Cantonese with focus on the linguistic differences between Putonghua as a language and Cantonese as a dialect in Hong Kong daily conversation.

Course Duration : 3 Sept - 10 Nov (Week 1 to 10)
Tuition Fee : $500 (Non-refundable and non-transferable)
Full sponsorship of the course fee will be granted to students who attend ALL sessions of the course.
Application Period : 11 Jul 22 Aug
Enrolment Result : Release together with the 1st Semester timetable on 29 Aug via   MyBU-Study

Application will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
No adding/dropping of the course is allowed once you have submitted the application.
