In Hong Kong, disordered eating attitudes and behaviors have aroused concern in recent years. To enrich students’ knowledge in eating disorders, an online guest talk “Eat Away Pressure” was held on 5 Nov 2020 and a total of 80 students joined the talk. Ms Kelly Ho (Registered Dietitian) from Hong Kong Eating Disorders Association was invited as the speaker. Kelly introduced three common types of eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Patients usually have undesirable dietary habits which lead to multiple health problems. The behaviors are often driven by their stress. For instance, binge eating disorder patients usually eat a lot to release their stress. Kelly also shared the treatment on eating disorders. Besides medical consultation and counselling, modified eating and lifestyle behaviors are essential. Apart from physical activity and quality of sleep, having healthy food choice can help to reduce stress. Students replied that they leant more about the topic and they will try the food groups suggested to combat pressure.

Students paid attention to differentiate three types of eating disorders.
