Book Your Consultation
The ELS Consultation Hours gives students the opportunity to receive personalized assistance that addresses their specific language needs. Appointments can be made with any lecturer from the English Team. Each consultation with a lecturer lasts for 20 minutes and students can seek extra help in English with anything ranging from speaking to corrective feedback or any other input on various areas of English learning. Lecturers in the CIE English Team are all highly experienced and privileged with very different backgrounds and training.

Please make an appointment at least 3 days in advance.

Each appointment is 20 minutes maximum.
3)
Pick a time slot you prefer from this timetable. You can also access the timetable on My-BUstudy, under the "My Learning Tools" tab.
4)
Fill in the booking form (see “Schedule and Talk with us” button below) to make an appointment with your preferred lecturer. On the form, fill in the “Email” box with your HKBU email.
5)
Wait for your lecturer's email confirmation.
Please note:
1. This is not a tutoring service.
2. Lecturers will offer guidance and assistance on English-related matters, but will not proofread your paper.
3. You are responsible for bringing in whatever material you need help with.
4. Lecturers are not expected to provide drills / training for any public examinations, such as the IELTS or the DSE.
5. Please be considerate of other students and use the service wisely and efficiently.
6. Your appointment will be cancelled automatically if you are late for 5 minutes.
