Applicant who has obtained a conditional offer and attained Level 2 or above in five subjects^* (including Chinese Language# and English Language) in HKDSE can claim the Admission offer on the College’s designated webpage.

^ If one of the HKDSE subjects is “Citizenship and Social Development” (CSD), the minimum entrance requirement would become “Attained” for CSD and Level 2 in four other HKDSE subjects, including Chinese and English. Level 2 in Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) is also recognised as one of the five HKDSE subjects in fulfilling the minimum entrance requirement.

* Applicants can use Applied Learning subjects for admission purposes.

# For non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students fulfilling one of the specified conditions in “Note 1”, "Attained" or above in Applied Learning Chinese would be accepted as an alternative Chinese Language qualification. For NCS HKDSE candidates applying for the Associate Degree Programme, the following alternative Chinese Language qualifications are also recognised by the College of International Education as equivalent to HKDSE Chinese Language:

  • Grade E or above in GCE A/AS Level Chinese; or
  • Grade C or above in GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O-Level Chinese.

Note 1: The specified conditions are:
(a) The candidates have learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education; or
(b) The candidates have learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but have been taught an adapted and simpler curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in local schools.

Non-Chinese speaking HKDSE candidates should upload their official GCE, GCSE, IGCSE or GCE O-Level Chinese results slip or certificate via MyCIE Application.

For 2025 HKDSE candidates who applied for the AD/HD programme in mid-July and have not received a conditional offer, if your results meet the entrance requirements, please upload your HKDSE Results Notice via MyCIE Application on or after 16 July 2025, and inform the College by sending an email to applycie@hkbu.edu.hk with your application number. Your application will be considered if places are available.
