Geography and Resources Management (GRMG) students visited K-Farm, a leisure farm developed by the NGO ROUGH in Hong Kong, aimed at promoting local farming and agricultural activities for the people of Hong Kong. Situated in Kennedy Town on Hong Kong Island, the purpose of this visit was to familiarize students with the concept of 'Farm to Care,' illustrating how sustainable and caring communities can be built through various farming activities that nurture physical and mental health, support the underprivileged, and safeguard the environment.

During the visit, GRMG students participated in a volunteer training workshop to immerse themselves in the role of a K-Farmer, engaging in the daily tasks of farm work. Outdoor activities covered fundamental aspects of organic soil farming, including seedling care, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control in the farmland. Indoor activities focused on hydroponic farming, teaching techniques for seedling care, harvesting, and maintenance.

Dr. Homan Leung, the course lecturer said, "Through these hands-on farming experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of the symbiotic relationship between plants and soil in an outdoor classroom setting, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life agricultural situations".
