More than 20 CIE students joined the Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement (TECM) 2017 organised by the Fullness Social Enterprises Society (FSES). CIE participated in this meaningful programme four years in a row. This year students were arranged to serve as event helpers and researchers in the Opening Ceremony.

Ms. Erica Lee, Lecturer and staff-in-charge of the event shared that TECM is a campaign which encourages consumers, corporations, institutions, and organizations from various sectors to make a socially conscious choice to patronize the products and services of social enterprises, so as to promote an active citizenship and betterment of the community.

Zhu Dong Yao, Steven and Li Zi Yuan, Lizzy (both studying in Business Administration, Year 2) expressed that after serving as a student volunteer in the Opening Ceremony of TECM, they were truly impressed by how social enterprises had been making a meaningful contribution to the society by providing employment and training opportunities for the underprivileged groups.

Liang Yu Hua, Grace (Business Administration, Year 2) and Liu Zi Qi, Lausky (Journalism, Year 2) were glad to have joined the event and said that the voluntary work had deepened not only their compassion for the needy but also their passion to serve the community in the future.

Marketing student Li, Zheng Jie participated in TECM to serve as researcher.
