To further assist students in mastering academic reading, the English Language Support (ELS) organized a reading workshop titled "Get to the Point," led by Dr. Yvonne Wong.

Scheduled for 20 February 2025, this workshop was designed for first-year students who wished to enhance their reading comprehension skills, which would in turn help them write more informed essays. Dr. Wong guided participants through effective techniques for identifying main ideas and summarizing key points in academic texts.

During the session, attendees learned practical strategies to streamline their reading process, including skimming and scanning techniques, as well as tips for annotating texts efficiently. Dr. Wong’s approachable and professional style ensured that complex concepts were made accessible to all learners, fostering a supportive environment for everyone.
