More than 60 CIE students joined the Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement (TECM) Bazaar organized by Fullness Social Enterprises Society (FSES) in September 2015 at Park Central of Tseung Kwan O.

TECM is a campaign which encourages consumers and corporations to make a socially conscious choice to patronize the products and services of social enterprises, so as to promote active citizenship and betterment of the community. It is the second year that CIE students participated in TECM to serve as tour guides, workshop helpers, researchers and promoters in the bazaar.

Ms. Erica Lee, Lecturer of Business Division and Project Coordinator said that it was exciting to see the growing number of student participants this year. There was positive feedback from the students that voluntary work had not only enabled them to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to the real world, but also helped them to develop a sense of belonging to both the College and community.

FANG Jiawei, Lesley (Business Administration Concentration Studies, Year 2) expressed that after serving as a student volunteer in TECM Bazaar, he had a better understanding of how social enterprises had been helping the underprivileged groups and making the world a better place to live through running a business.

TSUI Chak Hang, Terry (Business Administration Concentration Studies, Year 2) said that he was impressed by how social enterprises had been making a meaningful contribution to the society by providing employment and training opportunities.
