150 students participated in the “Dos and Don’ts for University Interview” professional seminar which was co-organised by the Division of Business, CIE and Department of Marketing, HKBU earlier. At the seminar, Prof. Siu Wai Sum and Dr. Connie Li, Department of Marketing of HKBU introduced the important techniques on effective communication during interview and how to prepare for interviews.
SHU Chengzhu, Panda (Year 2, Marketing) said: “The seminar was quite useful to me. The speakers inspired me with right direction and reminded me of what should do and should not do during the interview. It could help improve my performance.”
To help students reinforce their knowledge learned in the seminar, follow-up mock interview workshops were arranged. POON Kok Chu, Vincent (Year 2, Business Administration) said: “The mock interview with marketing lecturer provided me with a clear picture of interview procedures. It helped me to have better preparation for the interview questions.”
The Concentration Studies of Marketing and BCom (Hons) in Marketing jointly co-organised various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as research projects for Ocean Park, summer internship programme and seminar. These activities aim to provide opportunities to students to apply their marketing knowledge and learning to the real commercial setting.
