Orientation Schedule

The New Student Orientation (NSO) aims to facilitate new students’ transition to the University and introduce you with the University resources and support services. All Year 3 students (2022 Intake) of the Undergraduate Programmes are COMPULSORY to take part in the NSO which will cover two U-Life Workshops of the University Life (U-Life) Programme as part of the graduation requirements:

UOW 1 – Personal Transformation Workshop
UOW 2 – Insights into HKBU's 7 Graduate Attributes

The schedule is as follows:

*Please bring your student card for registration.
* Please be PUNCTUAL. If you fail to attend the NSO, or if you are late for more than 15 minutes, you are required to complete the make-up workshop and/or exercise before the end of your 3rd semester. The make-up arrangement will be announced via MyBU-Study in late Sept.

Adverse Weather Arrangement

If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is still in after 6:15 am (for both sessions), the New Student Orientation for Undergraduate Programme Students will be re-scheduled online to 1 Sept (Thu).



Registration Period : 17 - 25 Aug 2022

The Convocation is one of the traditions of the University to celebrate the beginning of an academic year.  All new students are encouraged to attend the ceremony.

Date 6 Sept (Tue)
Time 2:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
(Admittance will start at 2:00 p.m. and no admittance will be allowed after 2:30 p.m.)
Venue AC Hall
  1. Students who have successfully registered for the event will receive a confirmation email from the Office of Student Affairs.
  2. Students' registration status can be viewed on the Student Learning Experience System (SLES).
  3. With successful prior registration online, undergraduate students attending the full Convocation will be counted as fulfilling one unit of the Co-curricular Learning (CCL). CCL will not be counted if students join the ceremony late and/or students are uncooperative to follow rules and requirements during the ceremony.
  4. Student should be properly dressed in undergraduate gown when entering the ceremony venue. Students without gown will NOT be admitted. More details on the collection of gowns will be provided in due course.
The Office of Student Affairs may revise the above guidelines subject to the latest development of the pandemic.
