Students from the Higher Diploma in Art Tech Design program have completed a four-day, three-night "ART TECH Voyage" course in Japan. This special course was held in Tokyo, allowing students to step outside Hong Kong and explore Japan's advancements in art and technology, broadening their horizons and enriching their experiences.
The four-day itinerary was packed with exciting activities. In addition to visiting renowned sites such as Ginza Sony Park, METoA Ginza, TeamLab Planets, and the National Museum of Modern Art, students also engaged in exchanges with faculty and students at Waseda University, Chiba Institute of Technology, and TCA College of Arts.
On one of the days, the program invited Mr. Eric Siu, a Hong Kong-born new media artist currently based in Japan, to share the design philosophy and insights behind his interactive project Touchy. The students found the session highly inspiring and gained valuable knowledge from the experience.
This immersive journey not only deepened their understanding of art and technology but also fostered cross-cultural learning and creative inspiration.

Students had the opportunity to interact firsthand with the Touchy Camera, and the entire group even joined hands to "activate" Touchy together.

Through interactive displays at Ginza Sony Park, students engaged directly with innovations shaping the future of artistic and technological expression.

The group had a dynamic discussion with the Director of METoA Ginza (Mitsubishi Electric), exploring how technology influence daily life.

During their visit to TCA College of Arts, the group engaged in cross-cultural discussions with the school’s international students, exploring different approaches to digital art and design.

At TeamLab Planets, students interacted with every installation, discovering how each gallery transformed digital art into a physical encounter.

The visit to the National Museum of Modern Art allowed students to study influential artworks firsthand, deepening their understanding of artistic evolution.

Beyond art and technology, the journey naturally included immersing in Japanese culture—leading the group to the iconic Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa.
四日三夜的東京學習之旅完滿結束。
The four-day, three-night Tokyo study tour concluded as a resounding success.
