CIE’s International Ambassadors (IA) took a break from their winter holidays by joining a 3-day camp to learn teamwork, project management and communication skills. 27 IAs from Year 1 and Year 2 participated in the event. Adding to the international flavor were guest facilitators from Inter-Cultural Education Limited (ICE), an award-winning social enterprise that specialises in cross-cultural events and youth leadership. Together with members of the Internationalisation Committee, they guided the IAs to an unforgettable experience.

The camp’s theme was “Beyond Borders”, a metaphor for venturing outside one’s comfort zone to challenge and exceed his capabilities. This was manifested in the sessions the IAs underwent, wherein they were encouraged to speak only in English, openly challenge each other’s ideas, and ultimately arrange a project on their own. The camp also had its fun elements, as IAs competed with their groups in competitive games inspired by different countries. At the end of the 3-day camp, IAs were able to reflect on their life direction, consolidate new skills, and meet new friends. It was more than a camp; it was going beyond borders.
