CIE Students awarded in HKIAAT Accounting and Business Management Cases Competition 2013-14

With unrivalled innovation and flawless teamwork, two teams of students from the Division of Business of College of International Education (CIE) received “Outstanding Performance Teams” and “Proficiency Teams” awards in “The HKIAAT Accounting and Business Management Cases Competition 2013-14” organized by Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians.


The competition attracted a total of 177 entries from 25 institutions in Hong Kong and in the Mainland. This year, Pak Fah Yeow International Limited was the company for the case study. Through a stringent adjudication process, a team of four Associate Degree (AD) Year-2 students including Lui Chung Yan, Lung Ka Yu, Wong So Chau and Chan Hang Fong from Professional Accountancy and another team of four AD Year-1 students including Ng Nok Tung, Chun Ka Lee, Kong Wai Ki and Wong Kam Wa from Financial Management were granted awards namely “Outstanding Performance Teams” and “Proficiency Teams” respectively.


“I am very glad to receive the Outstanding Performance Award from the HKIAAT Competition 2013-2014 and feel very thankful to HKIAAT for giving us such a wonderful learning experience. I am so glad to have gained valuable friendship by joining the competition. ” said Lui Chung Yan, AD student from Professional Accountancy.


“Although our team had encountered challenges from time to time in preparing for the competition, with our determination and the support from lecturers, we managed to cope with the difficulties and achieved success. This experience is treasurable for our personal development as well as future career.” said Ng Nok Tung, AD student from Financial Management.


Apart from teaching academic knowledge and developing students’ positive attitudes in class, CIE also encourages students to participate in different kinds of after school activities and competitions so that they can design and apply strategies for real business management cases.
