To promote cross-cultural exchange at CIE, the College organised a one-day visit for students from Stadisches Gymnasium Neustadt in Holstein, Germany and two local secondary schools to share views on cultural issues.

The event was kicked off with an exciting game on Hong Kong local culture which was followed by a series of stimulating discussions and trivia quiz. Through discussions, students were able to acquire knowledge and develop appreciation on different cultural practices. The day was concluded by an in-depth ideas exchange on how to bridge the cultural differences.

Ann Chen Anzhuo (Creative Communication, Year 1) appreciated the chance to meet the German students. The opportunity offered her with a fascinating insight on the cultural difference between Germany and Hong Kong, and allowed her to pracitise her communications skills through intensive discussions. Ann also shared that her fellow teammates were so worried about the language barrier when they first started to plan the visit programme. They were glad that the event went smooth and turned out to be successful in engaging both the international and local students in boundless discussions and exchange.
