The Student Development Center (SDC) recently invited both local, non-local and international students to gather at the Hong Kong Island to experience its rich cultural heritage. As a vibrant city that embraces both Chinese and Western cultures, visitors can easily visit key monuments or historic sites in Central and Sheung Wan. During this journey, students visited several designated historic sites, architectural landmarks, and bustling streets, including St. John's Cathedral, Lan Kwai Fong, Gas Lamps, Tai Kwun, and PMQ, etc. They not only gained insights into the historical and cultural significance of Hong Kong and the evolution of Western culture but also experienced the profound essence of traditional Chinese culture at the Man Mo Temple.

Some historic sites on Hong Kong Island have been revitalized and transformed into various creative hubs, enabling local artists to bring their design products to the public. On that day, students enjoyed local art exhibitions and a captivating dance performance by the Hong Kong Blind Union. Additionally, while exploring PMQ, participants discovered the unique charm and vibrant atmosphere of Korean culture at the “Korea Square 2024.”

“I was impressed by the peaceful St. John's Cathedral, the rich stories of Tai Kwun, as well as the exciting Korean Fest. All these showed an integration of different cultures. This half-day tour was not only a journey of multicultural exploration but also a wonderful opportunity for me to make new friends,” said Fang Ke, student of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Writing for Film, Television and New Media.
