B-DARE Business Simulation Competition Grand Final 2025 concludes successfully
BackThe B-DARE Business Simulation Competition Grand Final 2025 concluded successfully on 6 March 2025. This year, Division of Business was honoured to have LUSH Asia Limited to be the partnering organisation.
In the welcoming remarks, Mr Eric Lau, Acting Division Leader of the Division of Business, said that students were already winners by having the courage and confidence to present their ideas to the judges. He expressed his gratitude to LUSH for providing such a valuable learning opportunity for the students and remarked that this practical experience would be beneficial to them in their future careers.
The presentations saw students not only delivering their innovative ideas but also showcasing engaging videos and soap samples for the judges' evaluation. Ms Miranda Cheung, Managing Director of LUSH Greater China, appreciated the students’ videos and concepts, in particular highlighted how the interviews within the video conveyed customer feedback across various demographics.
Dr Connie Li, Assistant Director of General Education, Hong Kong Baptist University, member of the Judging Panel, thanked the students' efforts made in the competition. She commended the winning team's business plan for striking an excellent balance between feasibility and creativity.
“This competition was an unforgettable experience for us. When we first joined the competition, we were very unfamiliar with developing business plans. However, as the competition progressed, we became more committed and were learnt to take up more challenges, particularly with the requirement to create our own products. This unique experience was both fun and educational,” shared Zhu Pei Pei, Mason, member of the champion team “LUSH Oasis” who studies Professional Accountancy.
This year also featured teams comprising students from different disciplines. “Initially, I was uncertain about how my background of health science would fit in the project’s business goals. However, through brainstorming with my teammates, we found ways to integrate business strategies with health wellness. This experience highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and how diverse perspectives can lead to innovative solutions,” said Godakanda Kankanamge Sithmi Thihansa, member of the first runner-up team "Five Plus One Innovators".
The B-DARE Business Simulation Competition is a signature event of the Division of Business and has been run for 15 years. It aims to provide students with a premier opportunity to apply their comprehensive knowledge. Participation in the B-DARE Simulation Competition trains students professionally, broadening their horizons.
