CIE Tree Management students volunteered at the Annual Tree Climbing Championship 2015 organised by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) (Hong Kong Chapter) held earlier at Hong Kong Baptist Assembly in Ping Che, Fanling.

The occasion equipped students with the necessary experience and skills which will be beneficial to their future study and career prospects. For instance, students learnt how trees should be managed and maintained effectively. They will also need to describe how trees should be pruned to meet international, national and local industry standards to ensure tree climbers’ safety.

Apart from having an opportunity to see the practicality of tree management, students also had a chance to meet and discuss with the tree professionals who carry out this strenuous and taxing activity. They also demonstrated different safety systems and techniques available to students and provided them with a wealth of knowledge that they will need for developing a career in the tree industry in Hong Kong or other countries.
