Business Division organises study Tour to Shenzhen Qianhai Special Economic Zone

Students and academic staff of CIE’s Business Division visited the headquarter of ZTE Corporation Ltd. to learn about the recent development of communication and wireless charging technology.

In order to explore the recent development of Qianhai, CIE’s Division of Business together with the CIE Business Studies Society, CIE Investment Club and CIE Tourism Hospitality Management Club, organised a study tour to the zone earlier this term. Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone is characterized by its massive infrastructure and preferential Central Government supported incentives and policies.

A total of 38 students and academic staff visited the headquarter of ZTE Corporation Ltd., Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, CR-Vanguard ‘ewj shop’ and Qianhai Exhibition Center. Students also learned about the recent developments in communication, wireless charging and 3D printing technology.

Students had the chance to exchange ideas with young innovators, who are the first batch of entrepreneurs from Hong Kong to set up their office there. They also discussed the impact of Qianhai’s development on the economy of the Pearl River Delta region.
