A team of 15 Associate Degree students achieved remarkable results at the Trade Fair of the Junior Achievement Company Programme (JACP) held on 14 December. The team named ‘Famory’ competed against 74 students’ companies and won three awards namely, Most Popular Product/Service Award, Most Popular Booth Design Award and First Runner-up of Best Booth Design Award.

Blue House is one of the few remaining old tenements. In hopes of recalling old memories, students used Blue House as reference when designing their product. The product could also serve as a photo stand as a token of reminiscence about their families and a reflection on the core family value.

Miss Patricia Ng, Vice President Finance of Famory said that the competition was both challenging and rewarding. She said, ‘We deeply appreciate the support given by the business advisors and our lecturers. Even though we experienced difficulties during the planning process, we regard them as valuable experiences to prepare ourselves for meeting future challenges in the workplace’.

In partnership with the business and education communities, JA encourages young people to participate in a range of activity-based education programmes. Mr Eric Lau, Lecturer of CIE said, “Joining JA is a valuable chance for students to apply the knowledge they have learnt from lessons. Not only having a chance to operate a company, students can also experience how to run it with success.”

The team won three awards namely Most Popular Product/Service Award, Most Popular Booth Design Award and First Runner-up of Best Booth Design Award.
