CIE Lecturer speaks at Now TV Edutainment Fun Day

CIE is committed to contributing to different sectors of the community through various social services. Mr. Ho Lok Ming, Eric, Lecturer at CIE was invited by Now TV to share with parents on how to apply "edutainment" concept to engage children in learning English in home setting at their “Edutainment Fun Day” to be held in December.

During the event, Mr. Ho talked about the natural language acquiring ability of children and how parents could support English language learning using storybooks and cartoons. He also shared a small piece of research on the role the mother tongue plays in helping children learn English. He mentioned that if parents want to make their children more competitive in English language, parental support at home is far more important than putting their children at English learning centres.

The “Edutainment Fun Day” was first-ever organized by Now TV and was well attended by about 200 parents and children.
