Student Emergency Fund (“the Fund”) aims to provide emergency financial assistance to Undergraduate students with genuine financial hardship. The Fund is intended to be a one-time funding for students who have exhausted all other resources to meet the immediate and essential expenses arising from a recent unforeseen circumstance, such as sudden death, unemployment, work injuries, serious illness or bankruptcy of family member(s) who is/are the major support of students’ education expenses.
The Fund is not a substitute for financial aids and does NOT
cover routine expenses and education expenses including but not limited to tuition, student fees, study abroad costs and other expenses alike, as these expenses are typically addressed by other financial aids. Students should seek financial assistance from the Student Finance Office of the HKSAR Government for such expenses as appropriate.

For the protection of the safety and health in the University community, safety precautionary measures will be stepped up by the University with effect from 25 October 2021. Under the new arrangement, students entering the campus or being required to carry out certain studies or duties outside campus must have received both doses of vaccine for 14 days or more OR be able to present a negative COVID-19 test result conducted by a Government approved testing laboratory within the past 14 days (or possibly 7 days for students who are required to carry out studies or duties in Chinese medicine clinics, nursing homes or kindergarten). Testing fees, if any, shall be borne by students. The University safety precautionary measures are subject to change, depending on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For students with financial difficulties who need to comply with the abovementioned regulation but may not be suitable for vaccination due to medical reasons or unable to get vaccinated due to eligibility for vaccination, they could apply for the Student Emergency Fund for emergency relief.
